Meet Dr. Carrie York

Dr. Carrie K. York is a native of Seattle, has achieved various scholastic and professional accomplishments, and continues to learn and improve in dentistry techniques and patient care. She is very involved with her study club, Bolender Prosthodontic Seminar.

Education

Dr. York graduated from the University of Washington School of Dentistry in 1991, and then furthered her education by completing a one-year General Practice Residency, rotating through four Seattle hospitals. After her residency, she practiced in Seattle from 1992 to 2003, most of those years on First Hill in Seattle. Then, in 2003, she joined her former dentist, Dr. Rebecca Zerngast, to practice on Mercer Island.

Dr. York taught for many years at the University of Washington School of Dentistry, in the dental clinics where third- and fourth-year students care for patients. Dr. York taught in the dental school clinics since she was a senior in dental school, and has volunteered at the dental school in many capacities over the years, including the Dental Alumni Association Board.

Professional memberships

Dr. York has been accepted as a Fellow in the American College of Dentists, a national dental honorary. She was inducted into the ACD in Denver in October 2016.

Dr. York has been accepted into Fellowship in the International College of Dentists), an international dental honorary. She was inducted into ICD in San Francisco in October 2012.

Dr York has been accepted into fellowship in the Pierre Fauchard Academy, a third dental honorary group, inducted in 2002.

Dr. York continues to be involved in organized dentistry, as she has for many years. She currently helps plan and implement the regional dental meeting, providing continuing education to thousands of dental professionals at the Pacific Northwest Dental Conference.

Personal Interests

Dr. York is involved in her local community and has boy/girl twins who are 22 years old now. She enjoys Husky football, Washington wines and traveling.
